JuJu creates mixed media installations and participatory performances which investigate Blackness as a construct, resiliency, and Afrofuturistic re-imagining of the world that exists for the world we want. They are the creator of H2afrO, an environmental-healing justice project that seeks to tap into the embodied, emotional, sacred ancestral knowledge and power of water that Black people have been artificially divided from. Currently based in Durham, JuJu interested in modalities of collective healing in Black communities, legacy, flow and hopes their practices raise socio-political consciousness.
