CoLAB is a platform for hands-on education and media literacy based in Elsewhere’s living museum

This Spring, Elsewhere is launching two CoLAB, projects with the support of the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro’s Future Fund. CoLAB’s first project, CITY LAB will bring together 10-15 young leaders to investigate local and regional issues that affect civic participation in Guilford County and the upcoming 2012 Presidential elections.

Participants will co-design a project that explores how our local government works, and develop experiments in civic participation through interactive media that share the voice of youth in the Triad. Students will learn
» how to use photo and video
equipment,
» how to edit short films,
» how to screenprint,
» make hand-made books
» use blogging and social
media tools
