ACTION, RECALIBRATION: no. 4 by Heidi Wiren Bartlett | Inspired by decay and preservation of environments, Bartlett bathed the Ghost Room in light for the first time in forty years by replacing the boarded-up frames with four 90 year-old windows recovered from the building. In a performance on the facade, she harnessed herself to the rafters and removed the layers of plywood window by window, allowing light into the room. Her project displays the room as a historical artifact, the original wallpaper protected by blackout curtains and the linseed oil linoleum floor marked off with velvet ropes.
